“Mind” in Buddhist Tradition Pt. 1 of 2

by admin on February 20, 2010

by Mitch Kowaleski through Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org. This is a stupendous, one of the best ever. I love how you take the viewer through the basics – connecting it with practice via the 8-fold path, plenty of Buddha “world is mind” quotes supporting your thesis. Then the evidence you provide for this is fantastic. I loved the segment on the meditation and crime experiment, the Dr. Emoto evidence…great stuff. Then, you really sew it all together in a very solid presentation of the Buddhist notion of mind and supporting evidence from surprising sources! I love the psychedelic imagery that I now see as your trademark – mesmerizing. I liked especially the images for lust and for desire – the Michelangelo Jehovah is superb. Nothing shows desire like that image! Well-chosen. The music was very nice yet low-key – no overwhelming of your professional narration. Only a couple of negatives – mispronunications of Sanskrit terms which I could’ve easily fixed for you and mispelling of sunyata as sangata.
